Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou

Dunster Business School pays homage to Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou (1968–2024). 

Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou was a distinguished scholar, diplomat, and political historian known for his expertise in political violence, terrorism, and state-building. He made significant contributions to academia and policy-making on an international scale.

Mr Mohamedou served as a professor and deputy director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. His research focused on:

  • The history of terrorism and its impact on international relations.
  • Postcolonial state-building and governance in Africa and the Middle East.
  • The interplay between political violence and societal change.

He was widely respected for his ability to blend rigorous academic analysis with real-world application, making his work accessible to policymakers and the public alike.

Mr Mohamedou passed away on 17th September 2024, leaving a legacy of scholarship and advocacy that continues to influence the fields of international relations and political history. His intellectual contributions remain a cornerstone for understanding contemporary challenges in global governance and security.
