Job Search Strategies
In this workshop, we will cover how to prepare yourself for the job search, how to conduct a job search, how to apply for a job, why you need to research the company you wish to work for, and how to use online job boards.
Write a Winning Résumé/Curriculum Vitae(CV)
During this workshop, we will explore the résumé/curriculum vitae (CV) resources and review general résumé/CV tips. Practical session on building a résumé/curriculum vitae.
Letters of Recommendation
In this workshop, we will cover what is a letter of recommendation and why you need a letter, how to request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or a colleague at work, know what information you need to provide to the person giving the recommendation, and what to do after you have requested a recommendation letter.
Interview Skills
In this workshop, learn how to prepare for an interview, what to do the night before and the morning of the interview, how to practice traditional and behavioural questions, what to bring to your interview, what questions should you bring to the interview, how to thank the interviewer, and what to do after the interview, followed by a mock interview practice session.
Online Networking with LinkedIn
In this workshop, we will cover an introduction to LinkedIn, define your purpose for using LinkedIn, understand the benefits of being on LinkedIn, how to develop your profile and some strategies for growing your network on LinkedIn, followed by a question and answer session.
